    Connection to MySQL RDS failing

We downloaded the MySQL ODBC 5.2.7 64-bit client and selected the MYSQL connection type. The connection is failing with the below error. What is the reason for this?
"Binary logging is disabled for MySQL server [120419] Failed in resolving configuration."

We also tried to used ODBC connection by creating a DSN for the MySQL RDS source. The connection succeeds. However, the table list does not come up when we try to use the DB connection in a task. Are we missing any permissions?

Please note that our SQL client (installed in the same machine as the Attunity Replicate software) can connect to the MySQL RDS source DB without any issues.

Hello, please looks at the Guide on how to setup for MySQL RDS:

Amazon RDS MySQL Source - Enabling CDC | Attunity

Are these changes required even when we are not doing a CDC on the MySQL source?

We are doing a full load from MySQL to Redshift. Are these changes required even when we are not doing a CDC on the MySQL source?

What will be the performance impact on the source MySQL RDS DB because of these changes?
