forcing ssl connection between attunity & mysql

    Hi,

Can I enforce attunity to use ssl while establishing connection with MySQL database? if yes, how can I do that.

Please assist me with your inputs.

    Regards,
    RP

    Hello rameshpachamuthu,

Could you clarify the Source DB?

Is this RDS MySQL or Native MySQL?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hello Ram,

To have Replicate connect to your RDSMySQL via SSL:

from your RDSMySQL Database connection Advanced tab / Additional ODBC connection properties: add in

    --ssl_ca=C:\temp\rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
I did as per your suggestion however when I inspect the communication using wireshark I could still see the information like sql statements, user name in plain text. Do I need to do anything else? I have put the ca bundle file from aws in the location as referred in the property.Name: SS.png

    Hi Steve,

I added the ODBC connection property like sslca=C:\temp\rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem without dashes and it seems like started the ssl connection.

    Hello Ram,

I check my original post, and correct the dash as underscore.

    The correct format from amazon:

    --ssl_ca=yourpatchtothecert.pem

    Thanks,
    Steve
