Change tracking for Updates not working

    Hi everybody,

I'm new in using CDC for Oracle to transfer data to SQL Server. I have setup and configured everything and inserts of new data in Oracle DB are tracked and transferred correctly to SQL Server.
But for updated values in Oracle only the value of this updated column is stored in the system table on SQL Server. All other columns of this table have NULL!

Had anybody this behavior before? How can it be solved? Maybe I did something wrong in the configuration of CDC Service.

    Thanks for your support!

    Best regards,
    Rainer

Change tracking for Updates not working

    Hi again,

I think I have found the issue:
I had only enabled minimum supplemental logging on database level. But I didn't know that identification key logging for columns is needed as well.

So I added a table in Oracle CDC-Designer and tried to execute the Oracle supplemental logging script. But I got following error:

"ORA-06550: line 5, column 39:PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    ORA-06550: line 5, column 1:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored"

How could this be? I have checked the script and logging tried to be enabled on table I added before. So it is definitely existing.

Maybe somebody experienced this too. I will also go on with researching.

    Thank you,
    Rainer

    Me again :),

I have also found out what the issue with executing the script was:
Just easy: I didn't have the rights on database level.

So everything is working correctly now. I could execute the script successfully and for changes the whole row is delivered change-tracking table on SQL Server.
And I'm now more familiar with the whole process :).

    Best regards,
    Rainer
