Question CDC doesn't capture Update from NULL value to NOT NULL value

    Hi,

We have discovered a strange behavior in CDC. Indeed, by comparing the source Oracle DB data with the destination table, it seemed that some updates were missing.

By making some tests on Oracle Data and check the result after it in CDC, we 've got the confirmation that some updates were not captured by CDC.

    Context :
    - 1 Oracle DB
    - 1 Table (T) with a primary key (ID), 1 column with the state (data_state)
    - 1 row : ID=1, data_state = NULL
    - Update T set data_state=íTSTí where ID=1

By this action, we don't retrieve the pair lines inside the CT tables with operation 3 & 4, with one line for the NULL value and one line for the NON NULL value.

Question : What is the reason that the capture is not taken ? Bug ? Bad configuration ?

    Environment :
    SQL Server version : 11.0.2100
    Oracle version : 10.2.0.4.0
CDC version : CDC for Oracle by Attunity version 1.0.0.0

    Thanks in advance

Thank you for the detailed configuration and concise problem description.
We we try this on our systems time permitting.

If this is a production problem, then please (also) create a support case such that the proper support personnel and priority and communication channels can be assigned based on the support status.

[edit] Note: I think that you are using a Microsoft product here (OEM version).
As such a case should be opened with Microsoft, being the vendor.
They in turn may or might not seek Attunity's help in resolving this]

    Thanks,
    Hein.
