The SQL-based Change Router is a server that reads change events off a CDC agent on the database platform and writes these events into multiple change files (DISAM files) on the staging platform.
The SQL-based change router main characteristics are:
  • Uses memory aggressively to cache change events before they are committed.
  • When dealing with very large transactions, the change router writes uncommitted transaction data to a temporary sequential file that is read back and processed if Commit is given, or discarded on Rollback.
  • Maintains a stream position against the agent to keep track on processed change events
