    client machine licensing

If a customer has many clients running the Attunity daemon, do all of the clients need to have a license installed locally on the machine.

The customer has some machines that are using Crystal reports locally and using Attunity to connect to an archive file. They are claiming that some unlicensed machines can connect successfully also. What is the standard for licensing clients? Thank you.

Although the licensing model of AIS is rather flexible, the most commonly used AIS license is server based license. Under a server based license, the clients do not need a license - the license is checked and enforced on the server.

Local license is needed when accessing local data sources.
