    MSAccess calling AIS via ODBC

    Problem
    unable to create new linked tables in MS Access when using the Attunity ODBC driver in AIS 5.1- This works fine in V5.0.1

    we got the following error when trying to add a linked table

    Reserved error (-7778); there is no message for this error.

    Resolution
    The problem is not a bug in our provider. For some reason, MSAccess expects to get in the output connection string of SQLDriverConnect a SERVER property, while we donít have such connection string property.
    In previous versions we had a code that added this property with no usage.
    As a workaround, you may configure the DSN and add a property with
    Name=SERVER and Value=SERVER.

    M.S. ODBC Issue

    I am unclear as to the fix for this M.S. ODBC problem in AIS 5.1.

    Where do I put the "Name=SERVER and Value=SERVER" properties. Is the 'SERVER' the DNS name of the AIS server, remote machine or my local PC workstation ?

    Here is a 'File DSN' via Attunity connect driver from M.S. ODBC manager.

    [ODBC]
    Driver={Attunity Connect Driver}
    queryProcessor/noThreads=true
    OneTdpMode=1
    Description=DVLP_Test_2
    debug/logFile=ODBC_MYDSN_%p.log
    BindUrl=attconnect://kawc09.on.bell.ca:2551/NAVIGATOR
    misc/language=enus
    DefTdpName=ICSIS_DVLP

    I tried variations with the Name and Value properties but always get the same -7778 error ?

    Add in the [ODBC] section in the filedsn
    SERVER=SERVER

    in system/user dsn
    see pls the attached screen capture during the ODBC DSN Setup

    In the fourth screen of Attunity Connect ODBC Setup Wizard ( 2nd screen from the last), there are two input box at the bottom

    Setting Name:
    Setting Value:

    Please input 'SERVER' for both. It will save them as SERVER=SERVER . So please not input SERVER=SERVER directly.

    Try it and let us know if it works
