The process for moving an existing Attunity MFT database or a complete Attunity MFT installation from one computer to another. To accomplish this task, a complete uninstall and reinstall of Attunity MFT is required, even if only the database needs to be moved.
Note: If you have both an internal and a DMZ Front End Attunity MFT Server, you must first disconnect from the DMZ Front End Attunity MFT Server by opening Attunity MFT Manager and selecting Configure > DMZ Front End >Settings. In the DMZ Front End Settings dialog box, select Disconnected.

Stage 1: Back Up Packages and Settings

Follow the steps below to back up all Attunity MFT database content, users, hosts, templates, packages and all configuration settings in Attunity MFT Manager. Make a note of the backup location as it will be needed to restore your packages and settings later on.

1. Open Attunity MFT Manager and from the Configure menu, select Backup and Restore > Backup.
2. Select the Package and Settings option.
3. Under Backup Target, specify a backup path and then click OK.
4. Check the status of the Packages and Settings Backup job by clicking Monitoring in the left pane and then selecting Active/Completed Jobs. Verify that the job has completed successfully.

Stage 2: Manually Back Up the Web Folder

Attunity MFT Web Client HTML files cannot be backed up using the Backup and Restore feature. Therefore, If any changes were made to the Attunity MFT Web Client HTML files, you will need to manually back up the web folder. The default location of this folder is ~\Program Files\RepliWeb\Attunity MFT\web.

Stage 3: Uninstall Attunity MFT

Open the Add or Remove Programs console and uninstall RepliWeb Managed File Transfer. This will completely remove the Attunity MFT database and the Attunity MFT installation from the file system.

Stage 4: Install Attunity MFT

Install Attunity MFT on the same computer or another computer if moving the installation. During the installation process, the Attunity MFT Site Configurator allows you to configure the ODBC connection to the NEW location of an empty Attunity MFT database, which is automatically created in the final stages of the installation. Follow the installation procedures in the Attunity MFT Product Suite Installation Guide.

Stage 5: Restore Packages and Settings

Follow the steps below to restore the database content, users, hosts, templates, packages and all configuration settings that were backed up from the previous Attunity MFT installation.
1. Open Attunity MFT Manager and from the Configure menu, select Backup and Restore > Restore.
2. Choose Local path or Network share access credentials according to the location of the backed up packages and settings.
3. In the Restore from field, specify the location of the backed up "Packages and Settings".
4. From the Backup Instances drop-down list, select the Backup Instance (identifiable by date and time) and then click Next.
5. Select Packages and Settings and then click Next until the final screen is displayed. Click Finish.
6. Check the status of the Settings and Packages Restore job by clicking Monitoring in the left pane and then selecting Active/Completed Jobs. Verify that the job has completed successfully.

Stage 6: Restore Customized HTML Files

Manually copy any customized HTML files from the web folder backup to the new installation in the same location.

: If you have both an internal and a DMZ Front End Attunity MFT Server, you should follow the same steps above if the DMZ Front End Attunity MFT Server database or installation also needs to be moved. Once completed, the servers should be reconnected by opening Attunity MFT Manager on the internal Attunity MFT Server and selecting Configure > DMZ Front End > Settings. Then, in the DMZ Front End Settings dialog box, select Connected.
