What does Transactional Update do and why does R-1 create temporary files?

The deployment process provides complete business integrity, starting from data integrity on the file level, up to distribution to multiple centers, enabling a scheduled deployment and rollback capabilities. In the event of failure in the publishing process, all servers can be rolled-back to their original content.

Using Transactional Updates, R-1 makes sure all files are transferred to the target before they are actually published, or committed, thus they are transferred to a temporary location before actually being committed to the target folder. That way, R-1 makes sure the information on the target is complete. The purpose of Transactional Update is to allow management of content consistency, with the following benefits:

    • Overcoming content inconsistencies over lengthy replication processes.
    • Managing activities requiring updates on specific times, like marketing campaigns, public companies information, etc.
    • Managing synchronized activities, like loading updated web site files to all of its mirror servers.
