    HOW TO: Troubleshoot the IMS/TM (DC) Adapter

    DESCRIPTION

    If you are facing a problem accessing IMS/TM via OTMA_CREATE, this article provides a complete native IMS/TM program to debug your Mainframe environment.

    Before starting to check your IMS/TM environment, make sure you have the OTMA-CI API installed and configured.

    TEST OTMA SAMPLE

    To run the TEST OTMA sample, follow these steps:

    1. Download the testOTMA.zip file. Which contains the following files:

    • A JCL to run the program.
    • A testOTMA program.

    2. Open the transmit file and copy the testOTMA to NAVROOT.LOAD. (Modify it to suit your installation HLQ).

    3. Copy the JCL to NAVROOT.USERLIB.

    4. Edit the JCL as follows:

    • Give correct values to JCL XCFGROUP=OTMAGRP and SERVERNAME=OTMAMBR.
    • Give correct values to CLASS=A,MSGCLASS=X.
    • Modify the JCL to your current NAVROOT.

    5. Submit the JCL, and check the output of the JOB in the SYSOUT.
    • It may be necessary to provide Attunity Support with the output.

    If the native testOTMA gives you the same error when working with Attunity Server, this could mean that there are problems with the OTMA callable interface that is being used on the machine.

    //OTMAINIT PROC RGN=3000K,SOUT=*
    //*
    //IEFPROC EXEC PGM=DFSYSVI0,
    // REGION=&RGN
    //*
    //STEPLIB DD DISP=SHR,UNIT=SYSDA,
    // DSN=IMS710.SDFSRESL
    //*
    //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=&SOUT
    //SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=&SOUT
    //*
    // PEND
    //INITOTMA EXEC OTMAINIT

    IMPORTANT LINK Visit the following website for an explanation of how to make sure that the OTMA-CI (OTMA callable interface) is initialized in your MVS environment:

    Also visit the Attunity IMS/ADAPER home page for more information about the advanced IMS/TM integration technologies.

    A working OTMA-CI is a requirement for the IMS Adapter to operate successfully.
