Description
The nullValue is a field level property in ADD (Data Source Metadata), which specifies the null value for a field where the Data Source does not support real null values.

This property is documented, however it's not obvious how to set the nullValue using binary data.

Solution

The Syntax for setting the nullValue as Binary data is as follows:

nullValue='BINARY:\xx\...'

For example, to set the nullValue to 0xFFFF:

nullValue='BINARY:\FF\FF'

Note:

If you specify a value which is shorter than the actual length of the field, the last character will be used to fill the remaining data.
