VSAM data access through filters foralternate index

I have VSAM file with multiple structures and primary key of it is only first 10 characters but i need to access it based on the data available at 67th position (5 characters from 67th position). So i have to use 5 characters from 67th position in filter expression.

To achieve above scenario, i created alternate index to the base VSAM file with key length 5 bytes as KEYS (67 5) and applied filter also but didn't get the data.

Here 5 bytes data is repeats for few other records also. so i could say, here alternate index key is non-unique one. Does this mean we can't access VSAM data of KSDS file with non-unique key..???

I read in Attunity manuals about this like "A non-unique alternate index for a KSDS file is not supported".

    It's working.

    I. Created alternate index to the base indexed file and added filter for that in studio.
II. Primary Key of the VSAM file is added as index and assigned PATH file to it through dbCommand.

    Thanks,
    Robert Immanuel.
