CDC Menu didn't show up in solution explorer

    Hey there,

I just downloaded and installed a trial version of Oracle-CDC for SSIS. After I created a new project, I didn't see the add-in menu. And I didn't see a new "CDC" folder under my project folder. Are there any extra configuations I need to do? Thanks!

    Hi Lin,

What version of SQL Server do you have? Do you have both the SQL Server database engine and the Integration services installed?
Have you created an Integration Services project?
Can you verify from BIDS that the Attunity add-in is turned on? You can check that from Tools->Add-in Manager

    Thanks,
    Yossi

    Hey Yossi,

Thanks for your reply. I have SQL Server 2008 installed. And yes, I have SQL Server database engine and Integration services installed.

After I installed 'Oracle-CDC for SSIS', I created a new Integration Services project. I just checked Tools->Add-in Manager and I saw 'OracleCDCAddin - SSIS BI Accelertor for Oracle' is available there. The 'Startup' checkbox is checked.

    Thanks,

    Lin

    Hi Lin,

Can you please try the following?
Open a command line console and navigate to the directory with the devenv.exe file. On my machine it is under:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE
Close any instances of visual studio or BIDS
    Run the following command:
    Devenv /ResetSettings

After that please check the menu.

    Thanks,
    Yossi

    Hey Yossi,

It is weird this time I didn't receive email notification so I didn't know you updated the post!

My devenv.exe is located under 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE' as well. I ran the command but it didn't work. I re-installed 'Oracle-CDC for SSIS' again but it still didn't work! I will ask one of my co-workers to try it.

I forgot to mention I have both MicroSoft Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 on my machine. And I have SQL Server 2008 as well. Does it matter?

    Thanks,

    Lin

    Hi Lin,

We plan to have an update release next week that should fix the problem.
I will let you know when it is available.

    Thanks,
    Yossi

    Hi Lin,

The new kits are available for download from our web site. We replaced the kits and they can be downloaded from the same location you used to download the previous ones.

    Thanks,
    Yossi
