Using Linked Server from Windows 2008 R2 -> VMS Rdb

Hello, I am used to working with Windows 2000 and Attunity 4.8-2 on VMS, we are setting up Attunity 5.3-2 on both Windows 2008R2 and VMS. We have linked servers that work just fine under 2000, if the linked server is called “HBmedia”, to access Rdb data on VMS you simply use a naming scheme like...

    select * from HBMEDIA...product_line_tcs

    PRODUCT_LINE_TC PRODUCT_LINE_DESC REC_EXP_DATE
    --------------- ------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------
    DRMAIL DIRECT MAIL 2004-01-01 00:00:00.000
    INSERT FREE STANDING INSERT NULL
    INSTOR IN-STORE VEHICLES 2004-01-01 00:00:00.000
    ROP RUN OF PRESS NULL
    SAMPLE SAMPLING NULL

    (5 row(s) affected)

However, under Windows 2008 R2 and 5.3 of Attunity, the exact same linked server setup does not work with the above naming scheme. I tried it exactly as above and also with “dbo”, and got the following results…

    select * from hbmedia...PRODUCT_LINE_TCS

    Msg 7313, Level 16, State 1, Line 7
An invalid schema or catalog was specified for the provider "AttunityConnect" for linked server "hbmedia".

    select * from hbmedia..dbo.PRODUCT_LINE_TCS

    Msg 7314, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
The OLE DB provider "AttunityConnect" for linked server "hbmedia" does not contain the table ""dbo"."PRODUCT_LINE_TCS"". The table either does not exist or the current user does not have permissions on that table

any idea of what I can try here? The linked server seems fine; it appears to need a different naming scheme…

This is fairly important, we are trying to decide which middleware to use for a very important project

This should work. There are many questions to ask and so it does not fit this public forum (although the final resolution would probably be posted). Please contact Attunity support.

    Got a select to work...

I did post a request to attunity support as well. Anyway, after numerous trys, this select did work...

Here's the syntax...looks like, in 2008, you need public, and everything in brackets.

    (we'll see about writes)

    select * from [hbmedia].[hbmedia].[public].PRODUCT_LINE_TCS

    PRODUCT_LINE_TC PRODUCT_LINE_DESC REC_EXP_DATE
    --------------- ------------------------------ ----------------------
    DRMAIL DIRECT MAIL 2004-01-01 00:00:00.00
    INSERT FREE STANDING INSERT NULL
    INSTOR IN-STORE VEHICLES 2004-01-01 00:00:00.00
    ROP RUN OF PRESS NULL
    SAMPLE SAMPLING NULL
