The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion

    Attunity Replicate Console not Starting

    Getting error message:

2014-06-03T06:42:38 8 ReplicateCore [ExC60C] Failed to start Windows service 'AttunityReplicateConsole': Cannot start service AttunityReplicateConsole on computer '.'.

2014-06-03T06:42:38 9 ReplicateCore [Ex0000] Cannot start service AttunityReplicateConsole on computer '.'.

2014-06-03T06:42:38 10 ReplicateCore [Ex0000] The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion

Follow these steps to allow the service more time to start:

There is a support page on Microsoft that shows the registry setting to increase service timeout. The default is 30 seconds.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922918

    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l
    3. In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry.

Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    b. Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
    1. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
    2. Click Decimal, type 60000, and then click OK.

This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.
    3. Restart the computer.

    Hi Steven,

I haven't got this error before. But now,I migrated the attunity replicate server and got this error.

What is the reason of this error?

Sometimes we don't hit, sometimes we hit.

    Any idea?

    >>> I migrated the attunity replicate server

    Please explain.

    Clean re-install on new server?
    Copied file structures around?
    Did you check/adjust <Attunity>\DATA\
    ServiceConfiguration.xml and ServersConfiguration.xml ?
Did you check the Windows Event logger for errors during activation?
    Anything in <Attunity>\DATA\LOGS\REPSRV.LOG

If it 'sometimes' works, then soem timeout may need to be increased.

    Hein.
