    Hi Experts,

Need your views on how and where to set the 'Internal Paramater' showing up in Advance Setting of Manage Endpoint Connections.

    Regards,

    Hello Akanksha Bassin,

'Internal Paramater' are for internal use, so there are no documentation.

This is a need by bases.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Steve is of course correct in that these Internal Parameters are indeed 'internal' and used only on a need-to-know basis.

But let's provide a specific example, in case you ever need it.

For example, for a SQLserver source the Replicate query to request the next chunk of event by default uses a "TOP 50000".
Let's say that for whatever reason Replicate Support with the DBA's together decide that more-but-smaller queries would work better for a certain server usage.
Well, there is an internal parameter you can set for that: "logScanBatchSize"

In the pre-Replicate V5 day, one would add that piece of string to the connection string, and save.

V5 and up, use the Advanced endpoint screen as you found.
Next where it indicated "searchParameter" start typing the parameter name
    - verbatim, character by character, all off them. No partials, no wildcards.
    - non-case-sensitive-but-why-not-make-it-exact.
Once there is a full match (eg: logscanbatchsize) he parameter will 'pop-up' [logScanBatchSize], for your confirmation/selection-click.
Click on the parameter, and you have the opportunity to provide a value.
Click outside to confirm, OK, SAVE

Now pray tell, why did you ask?
Anything particular you hope to set or influence?

    Regards,
    Hein

Thank you for your useful responses Steve and Hien.

    Hein,
I came across the internal parameter while exploring the tool and could not find any values there nor and option to add any value there.
So, thought of checking with the experts.

    Thanks ,
    Akanksha Bassin
