    cannot open database

    Hello,

I want to access an Sql database using a sql server login: i.e: sa

This is what i have done:
    - created a sql server datasource
    - in the authentication i used sa and its password

On the sql server box, i have the following error when i execute nav_util execute sqldb

    > nav_util execute paschiwebprod
SQS9028E: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database requested in login 'paschiweb'. Login fails. (SQL State: 00000; SQL Code: 4060)

pwd doesn't seem to be filled in when passed to sqldriverconnect.

I can't use windows authentication in this case

    Any clues

    Thanks and regards,
    Rudy

    Hi Rudy,

The error you are getting is not an indecation that there is a problem with the authentication information you specified. When there is a problem with the authentication information, you will get a different error, something like:
[ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user XYZ.

This error could be an indication that a wrong database name is specified. Verify that the database name specified is correct.

    Regards,

    Gadi

    case sensitive

    Hello Gadi,

I'm back to that customer for today and indeed that particular sql server has another server_collation making the database names case sensitive.

    All is fine now.

    Thanks,
    Rudi
